  • Software Engineers

    We are looking for talented software engineers to work in our expanding software department to help design and create new software solutions. Our software development group is a team of highly skilled software engineers. You will help the group develop the next generation of Formula 1 data analysis and simulation tools and guide the direction of projects with your knowledge and enthusiasm.

    The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and deploying complex software systems, possess strong analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a group of highly motivated engineers under strict time constraints. Experience with C#, WPF, Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5 is essential.

  • Software Developer

    Sahara Force India Formula One Team are currently looking for an enthusiastic software developer to fill an exciting position within the CFD group.

    Relying on a high level of automation, the CFD process is critical to the speed and quality of the car's aerodynamic development and benefits from constant maintenance and improvement. The full process is a combination of a web framework and services built on a background of scripts driving commercial, open source and in house software.

    Working closely with all the members of the CFD group and reporting to the Head of CFD, the successful candidate will be expected to excel in a problem-solving environment, developing applications, tools and methods to bind and continually improve the entire CFD process.

    Practical experience of development languages such as Python, JavaScript/jQuery and SQL in a Linux environment and a proven background in bringing practical solutions to problems are pre-requisites for this position. Experience in technologies such as Git, Qt and distributed computing would be a distinct advantage.

    Experience in CFD is not essential, but a desire to learn, understand and contribute is paramount.

  • Mechanical Design Engineer - Aerodynamic

    Based at our Brackley Wind Tunnel, the successful applicant will be instrumental in the delivery of key 'heavy' electro mechanical projects to the Wind Tunnel facility, model and R&D test bed. These projects must be on target, within budget and always fit for purpose.

    The successful candidate must be qualified to degree level and be able to draw upon a strong Mechanical Engineering background in order to achieve the ambitious targets set. The ability to create detailed engineering drawings to industry standard is a given, therefore previous experience utilising Catia V5/6 is essential in order to 'hit the ground running'. You must also be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills, be highly self motivated, possess strong communication skills and thrive in a high pressure environment.

  • Stress Engineer

    We are looking to employ a stress/structural engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering. Applicants should have some industrial/motorsport experience in stress analysis of composites and metallic materials using a mixture of FEA and hand calculations. A strong working knowledge of Catia V5/V6, Hyperworks and MSC suite would be an advantage.     We are looking for an outstanding engineer to join our Race Engineering group both trackside and at
    the factory. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of race performance, strategy and software packages. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience in data preparation and analysis, vehicle science development or aerodynamic
    performance. You will have the ability to contribute to the development of new analysis methodologies, tools and techniques.

  • Aero Performance Engineer(s)

    We are looking for exceptional engineers and scientists to become a key part in the analysis of the extensive aerodynamic data gathered on the race car.

    The successful applicants will use this large and complex dataset, alongside a robust understanding of the aerodynamics, to formulate performance and correlation feedback for the aerodynamics and race engineering groups.  This will require the proactive creation and evolution of analysis methodologies to make the reporting faster, easier and more accurate.  A practical experience of tools such as Excel, VBA, Matlab and Atlas would be advantageous.

    Some F1 experience in the fields of aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics would be advantageous however applications from recent graduates are also welcome. This role may entail out of hours work and attendance at test events.

  • Control Systems Track Support Technician

    You will be required to provide track support for the electrical/electronic systems fitted to the car and the associated support equipment. This will involve assisting in the installation of electrical components, configuring/calibrating the chassis related control and data acquisition systems, monitoring them to ensure their correct operation and carrying out any necessary fault diagnosis.

    You will work closely with the engineers to optimise the systems set up and be involved in developing the processes and tools for system configuration, data analysis, etc. The successful candidate will have experience in the development of electrical/electronic systems ideally in an automotive or aerospace environment and of providing field support for them.

    You will be involved in the prototyping, assembly and repair of electronic circuit boards, units, sensors and harnesses. You are likely to have a number of years’ experience in a development or high quality, low volume manufacturing environment where you have gained some if not all of the following skills:

WORK EXPERIENCE

Each year we endeavour to provide one-week and two-week work experience placements to school pupils from Years 9 or 10. The placements are only available to applicants that demonstrate a genuine interest in motorsport engineering and production.

We are committed to 2 year apprenticeship schemes in the team commencing in the Autumn of each year and applications are open to Banbury & Bicester College students only.
