Jehan Daruvala, Sahara Force India’s young karting ace, picked up more silverware at the weekend following his success in the final of the KF3 Asia-Pacific Championship. The award was presented to Jehan at the CIK-FIA gala in Paris on Saturday evening.

The Asia-Pacific trophy is awarded to the winner of the famous Macau kart race, one of the most prestigious events in world Karting. Jehan won the race in October last year, beating a fierce line-up which included Japanese racers, Sato Marino and Joe Ishida.

“I am really very happy about winning the CIK-FIA award in my first year of racing," said Jehan. "This award means a lot to me and inspires me to work even harder next season. This award wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance and technical support I received from Sahara Force India. I want to thank the “One From a Billion Hunt” programme initiated by Sahara Force that helped me achieve my goal of becoming a racer. I will continue to work harder to make my country and Sahara Force India proud.”

The victory in Macau makes Jehan the most successful member of Sahara Force India’s ‘One from a billion’ programme. Along with his victories in the British Super One Championship, Jehan has established his reputation as one of the most promising youngsters competing in international karting. His plans for 2013 will be announced in the coming weeks.
