Free practice 1 – Hungarian GP

Our preparations got underway today at the twisty, undulating Hungaroring on the outskirts of the capital city of Budapest. With Adrian Sutil giving the team’s new blown diffuser its initial outing, his programme was focussed on gathering as much data as possible. He completed 19 laps with a best time of 1:23.003, the 11th quickest of the session.

Paul di Resta, replacing Tonio for the first session, completed his first laps of the Hungaroring. Never having driven the circuit before, Paul’s schedule consisted of circuit familiarisation and the establishment of a good baseline set-up for the weekend. The Scot ran the ‘normal’ diffuser, allowing the team to complete back to back evaluation with the blown diffuser.

Tonio will be back in his regular chassis for the second of the practice sessions today.
