The latest addition to the Force India family, Nicholas Latifi, joins the team in a role that produced some of the greatest racing talent in recent years.
The young Canadian steps up to the top tier of motorsport after a breakthrough season in F2 in which he showed his skills on his way to nine podiums and a maiden win.
Born in Toronto in 1995, Nicholas took the familiar route into motorsport by racing karts in his native Canada. Early success was followed by a move to Europe, where he tackled the three the most competitive F3 championships on the continent – the European, Italian and British series. Podiums and wins duly came and in 2015, buoyed by an unbeaten four wins in the winter Ferrari Florida Series, Nicholas moved on, splitting his season between Formula Renault 3.5 and GP2 Series.
A solid season with Arden Motorsport saw the Toronto native impressing with his speed, skill and maturity and prompted a step up to a full GP2 campaign for 2016. A podium in the first race of the season in Barcelona was the auspicious start to a competitive period in Formula One’s feeder series, but the real breakthrough came in 2017.

A competent and mature driver, Nicholas notched nine podiums and a maiden win in the newly-renamed F2 championship, setting four fastest laps on his way to fifth in the standings. These performances were duly rewarded with the opportunity of a test driver role at Force India, a team with a tradition of nurturing young talent, and the chance to show his ability at the very top of the motorsport ladder.
