VIEW FROM THE PIT WALL: DOMINIC HARLOW, CHIEF RACE, ENGINEER
The team will go back to the Nurburgring with some interesting memories having led the 2007 race briefly with Markus Winkelhock. That day the Eifel weather was at its mercurial best and we got the tyre call tight and were able to lead in the early stages. The car at that time did not have the performance to capitalize, but follow our recent progress in Silverstone we are in a much better position to challenge for points in Germany.

The track, which is popular with drivers, flows nicely and features a variety of corners, from slow chicanes and hairpins through to high-speed and has a long straight. Gradient and camber are also features of the lap, notably at turn eight. To achieve a competitive lap time, you need all the normal chassis attributes, good traction, good chassis balance, a low level of understeer and stability under braking, and the best possible compromise between downforce and straight-line speed.
