Few Brazilian Grands Prix can match up to the sheer drama of last year's race. Going into the event Lewis Hamilton held a seven point advantage in the title race over rival Felipe Massa. The Briton only needed fifth place to clinch the world championship. The race started late after heavy rain fell on the grid but Massa was able to establish an early lead. Rain again came only a few laps from the end, making conditions treacherous. Massa scrambled to
victory while Hamilton dropped back to sixth, so when Massa crossed the line he believed he had done enough to secure the crown. However in a do-or-die move, Hamilton passed Timo Glock for fifth in the final corners to ultimately secure his first World Championship title, becoming the youngest-ever person to do so.
